Greek Rooster 500gr

Pastitsada is a traditional recipe from Corfu,  where it is a traditional Sunday dinner, it is sometimes called pastitsada Korfiatiki.


– 1 kilo of beef cut in portions

– 100 gr of olive oil

– 1 spoonful of butter

3 onions julienne

– 2 cloves of garlic

– ½ spoonful of cinnamon and clove in powder

– spicery in powder

– nutmeg

– some parsley

– 100gr of dry white wine

– 300 gr of chopped tomatoes

– 1/2 spagetti No4 or No5

– parmesan minced

– some sugar


Boil the olive oil and butter into a casserole and saute the onions for 3-4 minutes. Add the garlic and the meat. Brown the meat in both sides. Add the wine and then the chopped tomatoes, the spicery, the sugar, salt and pepper. Cover the casserole and leave it to boil for about an hour. In the meanwhile, boil the spaghetti in salty water, strain them and sprinkle them with the parmesan cheese. Then pour the meat over the spaghetti and powder some parsley above.
